Why THIS blog

Growing up, the paparazzi was invited to every family event. I do cameras
because my whole family does cameras. We live in a generation that is well
documented in pictures (which saves a lot of words). I might not be as techy as
some, but I've got the desire in my heart and an image in my head.

taking a walk

Though I personally LOVED my idea for our Christmas picture this year, my husband did not.  He did not understand the vision I had in my head.  And even though it turned out almost exactly the way I wanted (and had long hoped for) there were still a couple of things that ever so slightly fell short of my idea of perfection.

The idea of a perfect family photo is almost as absurd as the idea of a perfect family.  No matter how hard we try to envision things before hand in our head, when multiple parties are involved, it's impossible to match everyone's minds-eye (let alone get everyone looking and smiling at the same time. ;o)  I'm very quickly learning that what I deem as beautiful is not always agreed upon by others.  What a humbling experience.  What a prayer filled experience.  What an opportunity to build perseverance.  Hopefully by next year at this time I'll have learned a lot more about photography AND about surrendering to God the things that are out of my control.
